Life Changes, Astrological Events, And My Thoughts On Why We Don’t Practice Ashtanga Yoga On Moon Days.

Hello, friends 🙂

This month’s blog is a mix of things I have been thinking about. Last month, I told you about some major changes in my diet. I also told you, that there where many changes that had happened in my life, but I didn’t tell you more than the dietary change. If you’re following me on Facebook or Instagram, you’ve might have noticed, that I’ve been to Poland a couple of times, getting my Shiatsu Bodyworker Certificate. Hurray ^^ (If you want too, you can read more about Shiatsu here)

That month, I’ve felt like so much had happened. But change never stops, does it? I feel like every month, I turn into a new person. I’m developing so fast, healing so many emotional layers, becoming more and more my true self. The biggest changes, are always happening on the emotional level. When you change emotionally, your entire perception changes, your choices changes, your relationship with yourself and other people changes. The people who you used to judge, you no longer see why you should judge. You can have a nice time with someone who used to freak you out. Some emotional changes might even change your perception of yourself shaking your identity a bit.

I love changes. Anyways, I do find myself desiring for stillness. Do you guys feel the same? I want to tell you about what is going on astrologically this summer. If you don’t already know, there are a lot happening on the sky. During this summer, five or six planets are going retrograde, meaning they appear to go backwards on the sky. Maybe you feel like you don’t get anything done, almost like things are going backwards or extremely slow. This is the retrograde energy that you feel. There are some crazy, full moon, blood moon, solar eclipse, moon eclipse, etc. going on.

All of this might be shaking things up more than usually, and exposing the things that aren’t working in your life. I wanted to tell you this, just so you know that you’re not going crazy, it is the astrological events that are stirring things up. You might feel that a lot is coming up from the unconscious, maybe you feel like you need to rest more. It is important to stay in tune with your heart and body and take care of your self (and maybe others).

The 27th of July is the big blood moon and lunar eclipse. This day, the day before and after (and maybe longer than that) I recommend that you pay especial attention to how you feel.

Know that all these changes, and events, are for the better. They are helping you to heal, and to move beyond the things that aren’t working in your life, so that you can move forward towards your desires. You can in fact use the energy to manifest more quickly.

In Ashtanga Yoga, which I practice six days a week, we always take the moon days off. That being the day of the new moon and the day of the full moon. If you are sensitive, this makes total sense to you. If not, it might seem a bit odd. Many people don’t feel what is happening on these days as much as others. Here is what I feel during these days, and why I think it’s best to take a break on these days.

On new moons, I feel like it is quite time. It is like the world is sleeping and you shouldn’t wake it up. It feels like night time. To practice something as yang as Ashtanga Yoga, (when the astrological energy is so much yin) would be like the complete opposite energy. It doesn’t go together.

On full moon, the energy is opposite. It is too high. To practice on this day, would be like yelling in a room that is already too noisy. I don’t know if this is true, but I’ve heard stories that more people injure if they practice on full moon.

Please let me know in the comment field how you feel about the energies this summer. And I would love to know what you are doing on the moon days?
