How to practice yoga, and my commitement.

I am super committed to my yoga students. Especially the ones who are dedicated to their practice, and to be frank, most of my students are really dedicated. Some have practiced with me for years, others are dedicated beginners. I am making new videos every week for my students who prefer to study at home, or are not in close enough proximity to me. And I will be making something more for you guys, a bit more in depth so that you can get more clarity on how to practice yoga (will be announced on my webpage as well as all social media).

In this blog, I will tell you the importance of practicing properly, not just throwing your body around in various yoga positions. This is something that has become so important to me, because I myself stagnated in my practice due to the musculoskeletal misalignments in my body. I want you to have an easier time with your yoga practice. I teach how to move in a functional manner so as to keep your body safe and set up your practice for the long term.

Yoga needs to be practiced mindfully and as correctly as possible. Just as with everything else in life, the improvement in your yoga practice lies at the margins. Find the sweet spot between confidence and challenge. The number one thing that you need to focus on in your practice is STABILITY. And then moving into the yoga positions without losing the stability in your body. This is how I teach. I first teach how to be stable, then how to move. Why is this so important? For one: it prevents injury, second: you will progress faster. The thing is that stability is what makes your body feel safe. If it doesn’t feel safe, it doesn’t want to let go. It will get more tense. It will compensate with tensing up in other places. If you have stability, it can let go and open up. If you practice incorrectly for a long period of time, you may get repetitive strain injuries.

Also, if you have musculoskeletal imbalances (postural imbalances), you will take these imbalances with you in whatever movement you do. You need to consciously change the way you move, because you have a certain movement pattern that causes your posture to be the way that it is. To create change you have to address the issue. You have to break the pattern. I teach how to do this in all my videos. I want to help the people who have a really hard time with their practice, the people who feel stuck. I believed in me, and I believe in you. There are techniques that can help the most stubborn body. So do your practice, and stay tuned. Thank you so much for reading <3.
