Yoga for the mind, body and heart

The body, mind and emotions are connected. How you feel is reflected in both what you think and how you stand. At the same time, the posture will affect both the emotional and mental aspects. At the retreat, the focus is both body, mind and emotions and how to use the yoga practice to deal with imbalances in the posture as well as mental and emotional stress. There are many different types of stress that show up in different ways in the body. Because of this, there is no universal tool for dealing with stress.

This is a varied retreat with both beginner and intermediate level classes. It will be taught how to find safety, calmness and stability in the body, how to release stress, ground yourself, get in touch with yourself, be present in the heart, open up both the body and the heart and much more. So, how to use the body to find balance in life.

The retreat is suitable for both experienced practitioners who want to learn something new and those who consider themselves rigid, who find it difficult to progress in their yoga practice. There will be a lot of focus on technique, how to use the breath as a tool to stabilize and calm down, tools to be present here and now (even for those who are usually easily distracted), how to meditate for those who find it difficult to find peace and how to soften even the stiffest bodies. It is a good place to start, but also a good place to progress in the practice if you are stuck and need to go deeper into the body to progress.

If you have imbalances in your posture, it can be difficult to do many of the yoga positions. It could be, for example, that you stand hunched over at the top of your back or tilt your pelvis forward. Instead of changing the way you move, you often bring the imbalances into the positions you perform. It becomes difficult to correct the musculoskeletal system. In order to change the patterns in the body, we have to go deeper in our practices. In the workshops, the focus is on technique – how to use the breath to find stability in the body, interrupt compensatory patterns and learn to move in a more functional manner to get deeper into the yoga positions. In addition, a change in the posture will bring about a change in how we feel physically and emotionally.

The yoga classes will be calm to medium-level vinyasa classes, where the focus is on reprogramming the muscular and skeletal system and down-regulating the nervous system, getting in touch with oneself and softening. Mindfullness and somatic techniques will be incorporated into the practice.
